Big accomplishments for the boy over the last month:
His first solid food.
His first teeth—two, on the bottom.
Lots of syllable-sounding talk over the last few days. It’s the kind of noise that makes you think if you just listened hard enough you could make out words.
Also still the cutest baby in the world. See the photographic evidence.
Seeing Guthrie in the overalls brought back so many memories. I remember how hard it was to embroider Andy’s name and how it came out so crooked. (We don’t have to talk about why I couldn’t sew straight. Let’s just say it was a different time back in the 70’s!) I was so proud of my spurt of creativity, shortlived as it was. I didn’t know that Brenda used the overalls for each of her babies, adding names as she went, but I am so glad that she did. My simple gift for my brother’s baby boy has been transformed into something really special. And now it is even more incredible with the next generation. It looks fantastic on Guthrie. Of course, he is too cute for words (which should be interesting considering his parentage..)
Love always,
Barbara
Let’s all hope Guthrie is not, in fact, a clueless petunia monster. What was that?
The latest photos are priceless. His little teeth are so cute! What a bright-eyed charmer he must be.
The family overalls are sweet. I vaguely remember their initial incarnation. It’s groovy that they’ve evolved into something wonderful.
“Use it up, wear it out; make it do or do without.“

Oh my gosh, he just gets cuter and cuter doesn’t he! I can’t wait to send these pics to his great-grandparents. Thank you!
